SDSU Alumni Awards of Distinction, goes to our own Angela Byars-Winston, Ph.D.
Angela Byars-Winston, Ph.D. (’91, psychology, Spanish; ’92 counselor education), professor of internal medicine, is director of research and evaluation in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Women’s Health Research. An elected fellow of the American Psychological Association and a former member of the National Academy of Sciences’ Board of Higher Education and Workforce, her work to diversify science fields led in 2011 to her designation as a Champion of Change by the White House through President Obama's Winning the Future initiative.
