"Yo Perreo Sola" (English: "I Twerk Alone") is a song by Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny from his second studio album YHLQMDLG (2020), featuring uncredited vocals by Nesi. The song's music video features Bad Bunny performing in drag.[2] It won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Reggaeton Performance.[3] A remix featuring Nesi and Ivy Queen was released on October 14, 2020, following their performance of the song at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards.[4]

Musically, "Yo Perreo Sola" comprises 808 drums and "stripped-down" reggaeton beats.[1] It features vocals from Puerto Rican Latin trap artist Nesi (Genesis Rios). According to Rolling Stone, the song "is dedicated to those who desire to dance alone, and safely, at the club." Bad Bunny told the magazine in an interview:

In a search of a significant database of sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Reformed texts, I was unable to find the expression prima scriptura. It is true that for the magisterial Reformers, Scripture certainly had the prime, i.e., the first place in authority. They had a unique authority but they also have a final authority and in that sense can be said to be alone.

Anyone who knows Luther knows that he was not a biblicist. He believed that the essence of what he was teaching was to be found in Augustine and in other patristic authorities. He did not imagine that he alone understood the truth of Scripture. He was not an Enlightened Modern nor a radical individualist. He did think, however, that Scripture stands over all other authorities, even a doctor of the church like Jerome. In contrast to Erasmus, he was utterly confident in the essential perspicuity of Scripture. Even as he asserted sola scriptura

Herein I follow the example of St. Augustine, who was, among other things, the first and almost the only one who determined to be subject to the Holy Scriptures alone, and independent of the books of all the fathers and saints. On account of that he got into a fierce fight with St. Jerome, who reproached him by pointing to the books of his forefathers; but he did not turn to them. And if the example of St. Augustine had been followed, the pope would not have become Antichrist, and that countless mass of books, which is like a crawling swarm of vermin, would not have found its way into the church, and the Bible would have remained on the pulpit.8

First we affirm that we desire to follow Scripture alone as rule of faith and religion, without mixing with it any other thing which might be devised by the opinion of men apart from the Word of God, and without wishing to accept for our spiritual government any other doctrine than what is conveyed to us by the same Word without addition or diminution, according to the command of our Lord.17

We are, by this passage, reminded of the duty of seeking profit from the examples recorded in Scripture. That history is the teacher of what life ought to be, is what heathens have with truth said; but as it is handed down by them, no one can derive from it sound instruction. Scripture alone justly claims to itself an office of this kind. For in the first place it prescribes general rules, by which we may test every other history, so as to render it serviceable to us: and in the second place, it clearly points out what things are to be followed, and what things are to be avoided.19

But let this be as he will; what is more futile than to frame the question in terms of physical body? since often before this I have declared that in this matter I pay no regard to physical arguments, nor insist on the opinions of philosophers, but acquiesce in the testimony of Scripture alone. It is plain from Scripture that the body of Christ is finite, and has its own dimensions. Geometry did not teach us this; but we will not allow what the Holy Spirit taught by the apostles to be wrested from us.26

The successors of the magisterial Reformers received and inherited the Reformation solas, grace alone (as distinct from grace and cooperation with grace), faith alone (as distinct from faith formed by love), and scripture alone as distinct from the Roman doctrine and from those Anabaptist doctrines that marginalized Scripture in favor of some form of continuing revelation. Richard Muller explains:

The researchers found that with regard to the primary outcome (between-group difference in the distribution of the modified Rankin scale scores at 90 days), endovascular thrombectomy alone was noninferior to combined intravenous alteplase and endovascular thrombectomy (adjusted common odds ratio, 1.07; 95 percent confidence interval, 0.81 to 1.40; P = 0.04 for noninferiority). However, endovascular thrombectomy alone was associated with lower percentages of patients with successful reperfusion before thrombectomy (2.4 versus 7.0 percent) and overall successful reperfusion (79.4 versus 84.5 percent). At 90 days, mortality was 17.7 and 18.8 percent in the thrombectomy-alone and combination-therapy groups, respectively.

Background: Unlike for extremity sarcomas, the efficacy of radiotherapy for retroperitoneal sarcoma is not established. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of preoperative radiotherapy plus surgery versus surgery alone on abdominal recurrence-free survival.

Findings: Between Jan 18, 2012 and April 10, 2017, 266 patients were enrolled, of whom 133 were randomly assigned to each group. The median follow-up was 431 months (IQR 288-592). 128 (96%) patients from the surgery alone group had surgery, and 119 (89%) patients in the radiotherapy and surgery group had both radiotherapy and surgery. Median abdominal recurrence-free survival was 45 years (95% CI 39 to not estimable) in the radiotherapy plus surgery group and 50 years (34 to not estimable) in the surgery only group (hazard ratio 101, 95% CI 071-144; log rank p=095). The most common grade 3-4 adverse events were lymphopenia (98 [77%] of 127 patients in the radiotherapy plus surgery group vs one [1%] of 128 patients in the surgery alone group), anaemia (15 [12%] vs ten [8%]), and hypoalbuminaemia (15 [12%] vs five [4%]). Serious adverse events were reported in 30 (24%) of 127 patients in the radiotherapy plus surgery group, and in 13 (10%) of 128 patients in the surgery alone group. One (1%) of 127 patients in the radiotherapy plus surgery group died due to treatment-related serious adverse events (gastropleural fistula), and no patients in the surgery alone group died due to treatment-related serious adverse events.

The Catholic Church teaches that good works done after regeneration (at baptism) and justification are (if certain conditions are met) meritorious and can contribute to salvation and attainment of eternal life, but only hand-in-hand with, soaked in, enabled by, grace, which alone saves us. Catholics believe in sola gratia.

Succinctly put, Peter reasons that if salvation is by grace alone then salvation is by faith alone. In other words, Sola Gratia entails Sola Fide. This truth was later codified by Paul in his letter to the Ephesians: 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8,9, ESV)

Although the world of travel is on pause at the moment, the sentiment of learning how to be alone in a new place is more relevant than ever. I hope that it can be a reminder to take these lessons of independence and solitude with us even after the pandemic.

The empowering dance track, "Yo Perreo Sola," (or, I dance alone) is from Bad Bunny's first of two albums of 2020,YHLQMDLG. The album is up for Album Of The Year and Best Urban Music Album. His 2019 collab LP with J Balvin, Oasis, is also in the running for those two categories. The Puerto Rican superstar received a total of nine 2020 Latin GRAMMY nominations.

Bad Bunny had made a statement that he wanted this video and song to support women wanting to dance alone and feel safe doing it. Giving that sense of freedom back to women, although it should never have been taken away to begin with.

As Protestants, we believe that the Bible alone (Sola Scriptura) is our foundation and norm for Christian faith and practice. In the pages of this inspired, sufficient, inerrant, infallible, immutable, invincible Word of Almighty God, we learned that it is by grace alone (sola gratis) through faith alone (sola fide) we are saved.
